Some people say that Extended Warranties should be avoided at any cost, and I would agree with them on most smaller purchases, but not on all larger purchases. For the most part, electronics are well-made these days and consumers would rather replace than repair them. Before ever purchasing any Electronic or Appliance there is one thing that you should do!  Take out all of your (non-store) credit cards, like Visa, MC, Amex, etc. and call the Customer Service number.  As a matter of fact, you can do this right now.  Many of the better credit cards, if you use their card to purchase the Electronic or Appliance, will actually DOUBLE the manufacturer's warranty!  That's right.  I bet you didn't know this.  Most people don't.  And most people pay for this lack of knowledge, and they purchase the expensive extended warranties right in the store.  A huge profit for the store and a stupid move for the consumer!!  So, if the Manufacturer's Warranty is 1-year, your credit card might extend the coverage to 2 years!  It's worth a phone call to find out.  If it's a small appliance or electronic and the coverage is 90 days, then it will extend to 180 days, just by paying with the right card.

EXTENDED WARRANTY COMPANY

Lastly, and many of us fail to do this with your home appliance warranty, electronics warranties and other extended warranties – read the terms and conditions of the warranty prior to calling in a claim! This is very important. They can deny your claim because you said the wrong thing. You’ll kick yourself for not having read the fine print first.
