CNET is one of my favorite places to download free software, because they also have great product reviews and tons of options all in one place. If you don’t have Windows, you can check the box for the system you have, such as “Mac” on this page. If you’re looking for Security Software, click the Category on the left, marked “Security Software.” From there, you can select from some of the great free software for your computer. I myself have/am using AVG Anti-Virus, Ad-Aware and/or Spybot – Search & Destroy. I gave up paying for Norton a long time ago, and have had no security breaches with my computer since implementing this free software. If using Windows 7/XP/Vista, you can also download Microsoft Security Essentials absolutely free at Microsoft Security Essentials
