Cash back credit cards offer you a percentage of the amount that you spend back. Certain cards offer cash back on all spending on their card, and other cards only offer cash back for certain categories of spending, such as: Gas, Food, Travel, etc. Choose the card with the greatest benefits or cash back, based on your credit and what you can qualify for. The amount of money that you spend on a given category should also be considered.

Be certain to look at the terms of each card that you're comparing, because there are several that do not have an Annual Fee, and some that do. If the annual fee is high, it may eat up any savings that you would gain with cash back. Many will also offer an Introductory Finance Rate for usually up to one(1) year, then you will pay the regular rate.

Cash back credit cards will offer you the greatest savings if you're able to pay off your balance each month. Because, any cash back savings could be eaten up with finance charges on a balance that you carry from month-to-month. Still, even if you cannot pay off your balance each month, wouldn't you rather use a card that is providing cash back, to offset some of your finance charges, than one that is not!

Cash Back Debit Card

With a cash back debit card, you reap the benefits of cash back, and do not have to worry about finance charges. Your bank may offer such a card. For instance, Bank of America offers BankAmeriDeals - a cash back rewards program for account holders, where you can go and select from their list of available vendors/deals, then if you use one of those vendors and pay using your ATM/Debit card, you'll earn cash back. They offer cash back when you purchase from vendors like: Sears, Popeyes, AutoZone, Five Guys, and many more.  A typical deal might look like this: "Earn 10% cash back on your Five Guys purchase. Expires ??/??/????" Be certain to check with your bank(s) to see if they offer a cash back debit card or program. You may be able to activate the program onto your current debit card(s).
